CCRPI/School Designation Letter

February 21, 2018

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

In December 2015, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the replacement for the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (commonly known as No Child Left Behind) was signed into law. In an effort to ensure parents of student who attend Title I schools are notified on how well their school is preparing its students for college and/or a career, our district mandates all schools inform parents of their College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI score). The comprehensive report card for all schools in Georgia, provides a score between 0 - 100 for each school-measuring how well the school is doing in preparing its students to be successful in college and/or a career.

Adamson Middle School’s CCRPI score for the 2016-2017 school year is 69.8 out of 100 possible points. The College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) report has been posted for public review by the Georgia Department of Education.  You may access the report at the following website:  From the available drop down menus for District and School, select “Clayton County” and “Adamson Middle School”.

I am very proud to tell you that Adamson Middle School is a Title I school that is continuing to provide a quality education to all of our students.

We are pleased to report that we had a gain of 8.1 for our 2017 CCRPI score.  We moved from 61.7 to 69.8 for our final rating.  This is significant for Adamson and indicates that our students are rising up to the rigor of the Georgia Milestones Assessment.  Our goal is to move to the 80’s in the next two years.  Currently, only three schools in Clayton County score in the 80’s.  We are truly moving to High Performance and the data demonstrates our efforts.  Additionally, Adamson Middle earned a 5-STAR rating on the Georgia Department of Education CCRPI rating for 2017.  Only three schools in Clayton County earned 5-STAR ratings!  The rating was determined by student, staff, parent, and community surveys combined with discipline and attendance data.  We are extremely proud of these accomplishments.

At Adamson Middle School, we take pride in the teaching we provide for our children.  Our teachers and staff members work very hard to meet the needs of all students to ensure they achieve at their highest potential.

An important part of Adamson Middle School’s success is parent participation and support in developing activities to improve student achievement.  We hope that you will become engaged in our school improvement work as we continue to monitor student achievement and set high expectations.  If you are interested in participating in the development of our school improvement plans, being a part of our family engagement team or have questions about how you can better help your child in school, please contact Charles Wilkerson, Principal at 770-968-2925 or email at

Thank you for all that you do to support your child’s education.
