Riley

Welcome and thank you for visiting my school page. Let me take this opportunity to share some information about my background. I am a married, father of two grade school children. I am originally from South Carolina and moved to Georgia to attend Savannah State University where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in History. I continued my education at Augusta State University, earning a Masters of Arts in Teaching Secondary Education. I also hold a Doctorate of Divinity. I served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps and worked in Law Enforcement before gaining employment with Clayton County Public Schools as a Severe/Profound Intellectual Disabilities Paraprofessional at Adamson Middle. My love for the DES population prompted me to begin teaching Functional Mild Intellectual Disabilities. The FMID unit is a self-contained DES class that uses the “Unique” curriculum, which is an online, interactive resource that teaches Georgia Standards through relevant life skills.

I believe that every child has the ability to learn and it is my job to encourage them and help develop the skills for them to be as successful and independent as they can. I believe in being in close contact with my parents, because as we all know, it takes a village to raise and educate a child. Each day, a daily communication log is sent home with students. Parents are asked to take a moment to review its contents, sign, and return the folder with the student. Any questions or concerns can be addressed using this method of communication as well as email ([email protected]), telephone (770-968-2925), and the Remind app (code – amsfm). Please feel free to reach out to me for any concerns regarding your scholar.

Remember..IEP meetings are coming! I look forward to a great, progressive school year.
